Sonali Bendre is currently basking in the success of Raakh. The crime-thriller, led by Ali Fazal and also starring Aamir Bashir, Akash Makhija, and Ramandeep Yadav in key roles, premiered on Prime Video on June 12. Beyond films and shows, Bendre has often been vocal about her personal life, talking about her lifestyle choices and how she coped after being diagnosed with stage IV metastatic cancer in 2018. Recently, the 51-year-old opened up about her dietary practices, admitting that she keeps long hours of fasting.

Sonali Bendre on her dietary routine

Sonali Bendre, in a conversation with Mashable India on July 7, revealed that she prefers to eat very less. The actress admitted that even before the interview, she had observed a strict fasting window for about 16 hours. Elaborating on the matter, Sonali Bendre noted that intermittent fasting has become a regular part of her lifestyle. She shared that she usually fasts for anywhere between 18 and 20 hours a day, although on some occasions the fasting window is slightly shorter. As part of this routine, the actress generally limits herself to one-and-a-half meals a day, opting for two full meals only on certain days. Rather than eating frequently, she prefers a more mindful approach to food, keeping her meals limited while maintaining a long fasting window.

Sonali Bendre on moderate eating and her favourite food

Previously, in a conversation with Kamiya Jani, Sonali Bendre spoke at length a bout her dietary preferences. Here too, the actress maintained her stance on fasting but added that she does not believe in restricting herself entirely. Her motto? Balance over deprivation. Bendre disclosed that while she eats almost everything, she makes sure to avoid white sugar and instead tries to choose natural sugar whenever possible. As fas as her favourite dish is concerned, Sonali Bendre shared that she is fond of mutton vade, a non-veg variation of Mumbai’s iconic vada pav. ‘Vade is actually like a poori made of different dals. But I don’t know why in Maharashtra we call it vade. But that with the rassa wala mutton is just amazing,’ she said.

In other news, Sonali Bendre played the role of Mona Arora in Raakh. The web series is inspired by the real-life Ranga-Billa case that shocked Delhi to its core in the 1970s. The story follows the kidnapping and eventual murder of two teenagers, Suman and Sahil Arora, with Ali Fazal’s Jay Prakash, a sub-Inspector embarking on a relentless man-hunt only to find out the disturbing secrets that change everyone’s lives.Add <img src="https://healthylife7.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/123467569.cms_-15.png” alt=”ET Logo”>
