Members from other unions, including PSEA Central Region, along with other community members are gathered in downtown State College on Wednesday to announce their support for the Mount Nittany staff
The strike notice came after Mount Nittany workers say they were unable to reach a new contract agreement with the hospital that would allow them to afford to continue working and living in Centre County, as the cost of living rises
In a statement, PSEA union leaders said, “Mount Nittany healthcare workers are the backbone of our community, and working families stand with them.”
Organizers say the purpose of the gathering is to urge Mount Nittany Health executives to work in good faith with their employees to reach an agreement
Mount Nittany has stated that it will return to the bargaining table with the union on Thursday as “they look forward to continuing good-faith negotiations.”
