GE HealthCare inks $500M radiology partnership with New York health system

    Hannah Murphy|July 16, 2026|Radiology Business|Leadership

GE HealthCare has finalized a 10-year, approximately $500 million partnership with Long Island, New York-based Catholic Health, representing one of the company‘s largest strategic alliances in the U.S.

The partnership, referred to as Care Alliance, is aimed at modernizing the health system’s radiology infrastructure with advanced imaging systems, AI-enabled technologies and cloud-based workflows. Catholic Health plans to expand access to advanced MRI, CT, PET and nuclear imaging, and will add hundreds of new ultrasound systems and new contrast-enhanced mammography capabilities. The partnership also includes access to GE HealthCare’s Imaging 360 cloud platform, which is designed to unify radiology workflows.

These systemwide upgrades will be implemented across the organization’s 40 clinical sites. It is anticipated that  50% of the equipment additions will take place over the first three years of the renewed partnership, with some installations occurring within the first few months. Combined across all sites and <a href="https://healthylife7.com/medical-school-welcomes-thriving-physician-assistant-studies-department/” title=”Medical school welcomes thriving physician assistant studies department”>departments, around 1,300 new pieces of equipment or technology upgrades will be installed.

“This Care Alliance represents an important investment in the future of healthcare on Long Island and reflects Catholic Health’s commitment to innovating in ways that improve how care is delivered,” said Gary Havican, interim president and CEO and chief operating officer of Catholic Health. “By combining Catholic Health’s clinical expertise and commitment to compassionate, high-quality care with GE HealthCare’s advanced technology, AI-driven tools, and digital capabilities, we are enhancing our ability to deliver precision care, expand access to specialized services closer to home, and create a more seamless experience for patients and clinicians.”

In addition to new imaging technologies, the agreement includes a 10-year multivendor service contract covering equipment maintenance, lifecycle management and staff training. GE HealthCare said the alliance is intended to help maximize equipment uptime, streamline radiology operations, reduce delays from imaging to treatment and generate capital savings that can be reinvested The partnership will offer expanded capabilities and service lines at St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center, St. Charles Hospital, Good Samaritan University Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, St. Catherine of Siena Hospital, and Mercy Hospital, as well as 36 other sites.
