Teacher suspended for sending first-grader home in only a t-shirt & underwear.
SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio Independent School District elementary school teacher who denied a first-grader a bathroom and sent him home from school in only a t-shirt and underwear
The mother of the first-grader at Bella Cameron Elementary could not believe her eyes when she saw her son wearing only a t-shirt and his green underwear in the pickup line on Friday
She says the school staff told her that her son had an accident near the end of the school day and did not have a change of clothes
The mother says her son told her he asked to use the bathroom, but he wasn’t allowed to go, and he had to walk around in his underwear for a long time
Further upsetting her, she says the teacher told her she did not have her phone number, which the mother disputes because she filled out paperwork with her contact information during “Meet the Teacher.”
The teacher has been suspended pending the investigation. San Antonio ISD says they have reported the incident to the appropriate agencies, including law enforcement, child protective services, and the Texas Education Agency
