ST. CLOUD — More than 600 school nutrition professionals from across Minnesota are expected to gather in St. Cloud this weekend for the 69th Annual Conference of the

    Minnesota School Nutrition Association

The conference will take place beginning Sunday, Aug. 2, and will continue through Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the River’s Edge Convention Center. There will be educational sessions, networking opportunities and an exhibit hall highlighting products, equipment and services for school meal programs

According to the association, attendees will have access to more than 150 exhibitors, including Minnesota-based K-12 food manufacturers and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. The exhibit floor, scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4, will include food samples ranging from low-sodium entrées and whole-grain products to plant-based and high-protein options designed for school cafeterias

Educational sessions will focus on topics including farm-to-school programs, scratch cooking, kitchen safety, nutrition policy, accommodating special diets and technologies that improve labor efficiency, reduce costs and help schools comply with USDA meal guidelines

“The MSNA Annual Conference is an excellent opportunity for school nutrition professionals to strengthen our programs, exchange ideas to learn from one another and connect with industry partners,” MSNA President and St. Michael-Albertville Schools Food Service Director Glen Ritter said in a statement

Founded in 1956, MSNA is a nonprofit organization with more than 2,500 members working to support healthy school meals and nutrition education
