Robert F. Kennedy Jr. released his celebrity cooking show, The Real Food Show, on July 30. Hosted by the HHS Secretary himself, the show is “inspired by” the Trump administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) agenda
According to the official website of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Kennedy’s show will focus on making “healthy, affordable cooking simple and accessible for every American.” It is dedicated to “bringing the Dietary Guidelines for Americans to life and showing that cooking with real food can be practical, approachable, and affordable for every family.”

The description further announces that every episode of the show features “affordable, budget-friendly recipes and easy cooking techniques designed to save you time and money.”
The show’s debut episode features Chef Andrew Gruel. He joins Kennedy in making crispy salmon cakes with an apple, white bean, and greens salad
Also, Kennedy recently spoke with USA TODAY to promote his new cooking show. The HHS Secretary shared that he can cook a “really good omelet,” and that his specialties include “steaks and meat and fish.”

Weighing in on a common misconception in the U.S., Kennedy stated, “Fast food is not less expensive.” He added, “That meal costs $12 to $14. People can eat a lot cheaper at home and a lot better food.”
Additionally, Kennedy said that cooking is a “sacred ritual that has been abandoned.” He added, “We have a malaise, an epidemic of isolation in this country. And one of the ways that we can start connecting people again is through that sacred ritual of cooking again, of coming together with your family and creating something that’s beautiful, that’s useful, and sitting down with them and enjoying that.”
