    Pears in ayurveda

Pear has a place in Ayurvedic tradition. Ayurvedic texts describe pear as useful for problems linked to the liver and spleen. They also describe pear as helpful for the digestive system and for lung related issues

Some Ayurvedic pain. The paste is applied around the eyes in such cases, according to these

What nutrition research says about pears

Pears are known to be rich in dietary fiber. This fiber supports the digestive system. It can help with regular bowel movement and gut health

Pears also contain vitamin C. This vitamin supports the immune system. It also acts as an antioxidant in the body

Pears contain plant compounds as well. These include anthocyanins and cinnamic acid. Nutrition studies link these compounds to antioxidant activity in the body

Antioxidants help reduce oxidative stress. Oxidative stress happens when harmful free radicals build up in the body. High levels of free radicals are linked to a higher risk of certain diseases, including cancer, according to health researchers

    Season for pears

Pears are a seasonal fruit. They are commonly available in India from late summer through autumn. Balkrishna’s advice points to eating pears specifically during this period, when the fruit is fresh and widely available in the market

Digestive and lung health in Ayurveda

In Ayurvedic thought, digestive system and respiratory system are often connected to overall health and immunity. Foods that support digestion are frequently recommended for general wellness not just for stomach related problems

Lung health advice in Ayurveda often includes natural foods believed to have soothing or supportive effect on respiratory tract. Pear is one of several fruits mentioned in this context in traditional texts

Ayurvedic advice like this is based on traditional texts and long-standing practice. It is different from findings based on clinical trials in modern medicine. People with existing lung conditions or digestive disorders should consult a doctor before making changes to their diet
