    • Experience the Restorative Power of Music This Independence Day at Six Senses Vana

At Six Senses Vana, wellbeing is shaped through experiences that awaken curiosity, invite deeper connections and encourage us to engage more consciously with the world around us. Music has long been a way of bringing people together. Before it became associated with sound healing or therapeutic frequencies, it carried stories, traditions and shared wisdom across generations and cultures. Even today, it remains a powerful way to connect, inspire conversation, and create moments of shared understanding.

This philosophy comes to life through A Mystic Music Retreat with Vipul Rikhi, a seven-day immersion taking place from 11-17 August 2026. Coinciding with the Independence Day long weekend, the retreat invites guests to experience the healing power of music through the living traditions of Bhakti and Sufi poetry. Led by writer, singer, storyteller, translator and meditator Vipul Rikhi, who has spent over a decade engaging with the oral traditions of Kabir and other mystic poets, the retreat explores how music continues to connect us with culture, memory and ourselves.

Across seven days, the retreat unfolds through three movements – Songs of Longing, Songs of Freedom and Songs of Ecstasy. Through intimate sessions with Vipul Rikhi, guests experience the poetry of Kabir, Meera, Rumi, Khusro and other Bhakti and Sufi voices through songs, stories and conversation, discovering how these oral traditions continue to find meaning in contemporary life. Alongside these sessions, the retreat is complemented by Six Senses Vana’s integrated wellness programme, daily wellbeing activities and thoughtfully prepared wellness cuisine.

Created for those who are moved by music, curious about stories or drawn to poetry that lingers long after it is heard, the retreat welcomes both those discovering Bhakti and Sufi traditions for the first time and those returning to them. No prior knowledge is needed, only an openness to listen, explore and experience these timeless traditions at their own pace

Much like the poetry and music that inspire it, the retreat isn’t about arriving at a single interpretation. Instead, it creates space for curiosity, conversation, and quiet moments of discovery. Guests leave with fresh perspectives and a renewed appreciation for music as a living tradition, one that continues to unfold long after they return home. https://www.sixsenses.com/en/hotels-resorts/asia-the-pacific/india/vana/spa-wellness/retreats/mystic-music/
