    • Eligible Medicare patients can obtain Wegovy (injectable and oral), Zepbound KwikPen, and Foundayo at a predictable $50/month through the CMS Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program through 2027.
    • Operational workflow shifts administrative burden to the pharmacy by handling benefit verification, prior authorization, and enrollment initiation once the clinician submits an electronic prescription.
    • Distribution includes free nationwide home delivery, same-day delivery in 3,100+ locales with expansion planned, and kiosk pickup at select One Medical sites for certain oral agents.
    • Service features include 24/7 pharmacist access and caregiver account support, intended to improve medication management continuity for older adults and dependent beneficiaries.
    • Additional affordability levers include automatic application of manufacturer coupons at checkout and transparent pricing/availability visibility, with reported cumulative savings exceeding $300 million.

The offering includes Wegovy in both injectable and oral pill form, Zepbound KwikPen, and Foundayo. The treatments are delivered through a newly introduced Amazon One Medical weight management program that combines primary care, pharmacy, and virtual care options to treat obesity as a chronic condition in one place.1

The medications are available through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program
, a short-term federal initiative run by CMS that extends through December 31, 2027.2The program enables eligible Medicare Part D members who meet specific clinical criteria to access weight management prescriptions at a predictable, accessible cost.2 Amazon says many submitted claims have already resulted in complete orders, with patients receiving their medications quickly and without administrative burden

How does Amazon Pharmacy simplify enrollment?

For years, cost has kept many Medicare patients from accessing GLP-1 medications. With the Bridge Program addressing that barrier, Amazon Pharmacy says it is now focused on removing the friction that remains: confusing paperwork, prior authorization delays, and long waits at the pharmacy counter.1

Once a clinician sends an electronic GLP-1 prescription to Amazon Pharmacy, patients can add their Bridge insurance plan and Medicare details to their Amazon Pharmacy account, and the company handles the rest, including eligibility verification, prior authorization, and starting the enrollment process on the patient’s behalf.1 Patients do not need to navigate enrollment steps, chase down approvals, or wait at a counter

“We want to make sure nothing stands in the way, no confusing paperwork, no prior authorization delays, no waiting at a pharmacy counter,” said Tanvi Patel, vice president and general manager of Amazon Pharmacy. “Once a patient’s clinician sends the prescription, we take care of the rest and deliver their medication to their door.”

    What delivery options are available?

Eligible patients have several ways to receive and manage their medications. Free home delivery is available nationwide, and same-day delivery is offered in more than 3,100 U.S. cities and towns, with no Prime membership required. Amazon says same-day delivery will expand to nearly 4,500 cities and towns by the end of 2026

Patients can also opt for in-office pickup at Amazon Pharmacy kiosks located at select One Medical locations, where newly approved Wegovy and Foundayo oral pills are also dispensed.1Amazon Pharmacy additionally offers 24/7 access to licensed pharmacists, along with caregiver support that allows a trusted individual to manage medications on behalf of a loved one through their own Amazon account

What other savings does Amazon Pharmacy offer?

Beyond the Bridge Program pricing, Amazon Pharmacy offers an expanded selection of medications with real-time availability and transparent pricing. Manufacturer-sponsored coupons are applied automatically at checkout, which Amazon says saves customers more than $300 million to date on prescription medications, including GLP-1s and insulin, with total documented savings across its coupon programs exceeding $100 million

With the Bridge Program set to run through the end of 2027 and same-day delivery coverage continuing to expand, Amazon Pharmacy says it plans to keep building out access points, including kiosk pickup and pharmacist support, aiming to reduce the administrative steps that have historically slowed Medicare patients’ access to GLP-1 therapies
