These are GLP-1-based medicines that doctors prescribe for patients with diabetes. But they can also be used as weight management meds. Ozempic has semaglutide, that treats Type 2 diabetes. It helps cut down the appetite, slows down digestion and manages blood sugar as well. Mounjaro contains tirzepatide, which could help to improve management of blood sugar while reducing the weight. Both meds are taken via injections. But there is a downside as these drugs may possess side effects such as including vomiting, nausea, diarrhea and constipation.
