La. (WVUE) – The Saints were back in helmets Wednesday (Aug. 12) as workouts resumed with the 10th practice of training camp. The indoor workout lasted about an hour
Things will get more intense Thursday, when the Saints will hold a joint practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Saturday’s opponent for the teams’ first preseason game (3 p.m., Caesars Superdome)
Thursday’s joint practice starts at 9 a.m. at the Saints’ facility in Metairie and is open to fans who already have snapped up the limited number of tickets
Saints coach Kellen Moore said he expects most of New Orleans’ starting players to sit out Saturday’s exhibition game
The team confirmed it hosted a visit — but not a workout — with free-agent cornerback Terrion Arnold
Arnold, 23, was cut loose from the Detroit Lions in June following an arrest in Florida on eight felony counts. Authorities allege he orchestrated the kidnapping and beating of three men in February whom he wrongly suspected of stealing cash and items from him valued at $100,000
Arnold reportedly has also visited Houston and Seattle, and was to meet Wednesday with the New York Giants
In other camp news, rookie defensive lineman Christen Miller of Georgia made it known he prefers to go by the name Percy Miller moving forward. Percy is the nickname already used by Miller’s family and new teammates, he said
Miller already made headlines earlier in camp, when he quietly paid for a stranger’s groceries at the Rouses Market on Power Boulevard when the woman offered to let him step in front of her line with his smaller number of items
