Secretary of State Marco Rubio called Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s meat and sauerkraut regimen a “crazy diet” that is “not sustainable.”
While appearing on “The Katie Miller Podcast” with his wife, Jeanette, Marco joked about the practical difficulties of Kennedy’s eating habits
The Secretary of State exclaimed, “Can you imagine? He has to travel with coolers of sauerkraut! I’m not going to travel the world with a cooler full of sauerkraut. It’s ridiculous. I can’t do it!”
Does Marco Rubio Support MAHA?
Marco was also asked if he supports the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) movement
“I’m in favor of MAHA. Like, I think people should be healthy,” he said as his wife interjected, “No, he’s not.”
When pressed on what he actually eats, Jeanette exposed the 55-year-old former Florida senator and potential presidential hopeful for eating Pop-Tarts and fast food, prompting him to defend the toaster pastry as “one of the great American innovations in the history of the world.”
Inside RFK Jr.’s Controversial Eating Habits

Medical and nutrition experts have expressed deep skepticism regarding RFK Jr.’s “Living Diet”— a regimen consisting primarily of grass-fed meat and fermented foods like sauerkraut — warning it lacks long-term clinical evidence and poses distinct health risks
While the eating plan was popularized by his personal physician, Dr. Sean O’Mara, who focuses on reducing visceral fat and optimizing the gut microbiome, independent doctors and dietitians strongly caution against using it as a lifestyle blueprint
Dr. Mia Kazanjian, a board-certified physician, warns that eliminating fruits, vegetables and whole grainsis dangerous. It severely deprives the body of essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and phytochemicals
Experts note that a diet heavily centered on animal proteins and saturated fats can rapidly increase LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, significantly raising the risk of heart disease and stroke

Chronic adherence to carnivore-style diets is linked to increased risks of kidney stones gout, and bone density loss
Doctors agree that fermented foods like sauerkraut and kimchi do positively influence the gut microbiome, aid digestion and lower body-wide inflammation
However, nutritionists tellFood & Wine that the benefits do not justify cutting out the rest of the plant kingdom

Regarding RFK Jr.’s claim that he lost 20 pounds in 20 days, medical experts emphasize that this dramatic drop is likely due to extreme calorie restriction or sudden water loss, rather than a magical property of fermentation alone
