    U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar is taking aim at the rising cost of healthcare in Minnesota

    Klobuchar, who is running for governor, spoke in Detroit Lakes on Monday, Aug. 17, about what she says the state can do to make healthcare more affordable, especially for people in rural Minnesota

    For Minnesotans, the cost of healthcare continues to be a major concern, from insurance premiums and deductibles to the price of prescription drugs

    Klobuchar, D-Minn., said the state needs to use its buying power to negotiate lower prescription drug prices, while also making sure rural hospitals and clinics have the re

    Her healthcare platform also calls for strengthening the workforce in Greater Minnesota and protecting critical-access hospitals

    “It’s about fighting for people’s healthcare. Fighting for healthcare that fits your budget, that fits where you live and fits for you where you work,” Klobuchar said
