Love is blind, love is on the spectrum, love is… suddenly skinny?
Netflix’s next dating show will follow singles during extreme weight loss journeys, exploring how they navigate dating, identity and the search for lasting love
The series, which has the working title “Weight to Date,” is casting contestants over 18 years old now. The casting website says “Now casting singles who’ve lost weight” and asks, “Are you ready to find love after a significant body change?”

“An award-winning production company is currently casting a new docuseries and looking for individuals who are ready to date after having a major weight loss,” the site continues. “This new inspiring dating series will highlight the journeys of selected singles who are now discovering what dating is like after a major body transformation.”
The series hails from The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) with executive producers Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman and Jeanne Begley
“Weight to Date” is said to be more like a docuseries than a high-concept dating format. In that regard, it will probably be more similar to Netflix’s “Love on the Spectrum” than to “Love Is Blind.”
While a press release from Netflix did not mention GLP-1 drugs, surely the topic of extreme weight loss has become more relevant in recent years due to the popularization of Ozempic, Wegovy and other medications

“Weight to Date” will join an unscripted slate at Netflix that includes dating shows like “Age of Attraction,” “Love Is Blind,” “Temptation Island,” “Love on the Spectrum,” “Too Hot to Handle” and more
