Gimme Seaweed Launches New Campaign
U.S. organic seaweed snack brand, Gimme Seaweed is celebrating their role in small everyday life moments with a brand new fully integrated brand campaign. Featuring the brand’s first live-action video ads, new photography, and digital storytelling, the new initiative was developed in partnership with creative agency George and produced alongside Believe Media. The campaign will run across TV, paid social, podcasts, and the Gimme website. The new promotional drive will highlight the brand’s evolution, quality, and growing popularity within the seaweed snack category with a Gimme. So Good. tagline, a callback to the brand’s signature Seaweed? So Good! slogan.
“When Annie and I founded Gimme Seaweed, we envisioned a future in which seaweed became an everyday snack in American households,” shared Stephen Broad, Co-Founder/Chairman of Gimme Seaweed. “Today, we’re seeing that vision come to life. What began as ‘Seaweed? So Good’ as a question has evolved into a more emphatic expression of joy, confidence and everyday relevance as consumers pack it in lunchboxes, reach for it after workouts, add it to meals, and share it with their families. This campaign celebrates those everyday moments and marks an exciting new chapter as we continue growing the category and bringing even more people to seaweed.”
RL Labs Facilitating AAFCO Pet Food Label Modernization Initiative
In 2024, the AAFCO Pet Food Label Modernization (PFLM) initiative created the requirement of a new Pet Nutrition Facts format for pet food labels. To assist manufacturers who have yet to transition to the new design requirement, RL Labs is providing testing services under the umbrella of ISO/IEC 17025:2017-accredited lab partners, with testing performed using internationally recognized methods, as well as compliant label generation, giving manufacturers time to implement the new requirements before compliance deadlines arrive. The company’s current compliance services include guaranteed analysis, nutritional panel generation for the new Pet Nutrition Facts format, and finished-product testing for health and benefit claims.
The new PFLM redesign aims to make pet food packaging labels more closely resemble human food labels. The upgraded layout includes:
- A new Pet Nutrition Facts box, modeled on the human food nutrition label, with nutrients listed in common household measurements.
- A prominently displayed purpose statement on the front of the package that clearly identifies the species and product type.
- An intended use/nutritional adequacy statement in the lower third of the Nutrition Facts panel that specifies whether the product meets AAFCO requirements for a nutritional profile and how the product is intended to be used in a pet’s diet.
- Total carbohydrates and dietary fiber replacing the previous crude fiber measurement.
- Substantiation requirements for health and benefit claims, meaning any package claiming joint health, coat condition, or digestive support now needs testing or a feeding trial behind it.
“Retailers learn fast that a labeling deadline isn’t just a manufacturer’s problem,” said Sharon Vessels, President and CEO of RL Labs. “When a vendor isn’t ready, it becomes a category management problem, a returns problem, and eventually a compliance problem. The retailers and brands paying attention now won’t be scrambling as the deadline closes in.”
