The singer has also canceled some performances and appearances, leaving fans worried. Amid the growing concerns, she is now offering an update on her well-being

    Dolly Parton has ccanceledor missed some high-profile events and awards ceremonies in the past several months, causing worry among her avid fans. The singer ultimately canceled her Las Vegas residency to focus on her healing, and she also missed the grand opening of the newest roller coaster at Dollywood, the theme park that she co-owns

    Parton is now sharing an update with her fans. “I am dealing with some health issues that I just didn’t pay attention to when I was watching over Carl,” Parton told PEOPLE

    Carl Thomas Dean, the singer’s husband of 58 years, passed away in March 2025 at 82 years old. While his cause of death wasn’t revealed to the public, reports note he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2019 and had been sick for a while before his death

    The Queen of Country Music said this isn’t the first time in her decades-long career that she’s dealt with health issues, pointing out that in the ’80s, she took a step back from work for several months due to “female issues.”

    In the mid-’80s, Parton canceled her tour and went on a hiatus due to endometriosis, which led to a partial hysterectomy. She also battled depression and stayed away from the public eye while she recovered

    “It’s not like I haven’t been through hard times with my health. But I think because we live in a 24/7 world with social media, everything gets magnified in ways it wasn’t years ago,” she explained, joking that she is now the “Queen of Social Media AI.”

    Despite her current health issues, Parton said she is still hard at work. “Seriously, though, even though I’m still healin’, I’m still workin’,” she said

    A few months after the death of her husband, Parton said that while she had many “beautiful ideas” brewing, she wasn’t sure if she could move forward with them. “I can’t do it right now because I’ve got so many other things that I can’t afford the luxury of getting that emotional right now,” she said, as

    Parton also said one of the most difficult things was adjusting to her new life after spending almost six decades with her husband. However, she finds comfort in her memories of Dean and said she feels his presence every day

    In July, the singer suffered another loss. Her older brother, Coy “Denver” Parton, died at 82 years old

    The Country Singer Made A Surprise Appearance At A Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

    On June 24, fans were delighted to see Parton in person after she made an appearance at the opening of Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville, Tennessee. It was a welcome surprise, as the singer had just canceled her residency due to health issues

    Parton even cracked a joke, telling the crowd that she decided to open a truck stop as she “couldn’t leave it to beavers,” referring to Buc-ee’s, the popular roadside convenience store chain

    Dolly Parton Is Gearing Up For The Opening Of Her Museum

    Parton is, indeed, keeping busy. The singer is getting ready to launch Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville, Tennessee

    “Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum is the largest exhibit celebrating her life anywhere in the world, spanning every dynamic decade from the top of the mountains to the top of the world,” the website reads

    “I am so proud of this. We found this location early one morning. I knew I wanted to do something special in Nashville, and until I saw this building, nothing ever hit me as the right thing to do,” Parton said

    The museum is located on the third floor of Parton’s SongTeller Hotel at 211 Commerce Street, which will welcome guests in September. The museum itself is expected to open in October
