A FAMOUS strongman is set to appear at a gym’s 20th birthday celebration
Ebor Fitness, an independent family-run gym in Hospital Fields Road, Fulford, is marking two decades in business with a special event on Saturday, August 29, running from 10am to 2pm

Terry Hollands, the 6ft 6in strongman who has competed internationally and reached the finals of the World’s Strongest Man multiple times, will meet visitors, sign autographs and share stories from his career between 10am and 12pm

Natalie Garrington, Manager at Ebor Fitness, said: “Whether you’re a lifelong Strongman fan, a serious lifter, or simply enjoy watching the World’s Strongest Man every Christmas, this is a fantastic opportunity to meet a true sporting legend

“So…. we’re throwing a birthday party, and you’re invited! From day one, we’ve always been proud to be an independent, family-run gym and we honestly couldn’t have done it without the support of our amazing members.”
The event will feature a live DJ on the deadlift platform, free bacon and sausage sandwiches from the BBQ, and hot and cold drinks throughout the day
Visitors can also speak with experts from Active Care Chiropractic and Athletica Physio – with Tristan from Active Care Chiropractic will be available from 10am to 12pm to offer free advice on injuries, aches, pains or training concerns

Kevin from Athletica Physio will give a 15 to 20-minute talk at 12pm titled “How Not to Wreck Yourself,” followed by a Q&A

The gym will also offer free body composition scans, providing insights into body fat, muscle mass, and hydration levels
To thank the community for its support, Ebor Fitness is offering a free three-day training pass for the entire bank holiday weekend allowing 24/7 access to the gym on August 29, 30 and 31 through the Ebor Fitness app
