It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Steven K. Hoffacker, who entered his heavenly home on June 18, 2026, at his home in Santa Barbara, surrounded by his family. As this was the hardest goodbye, we find peace in knowing that he is resting in the arms of Jesus
Steve quietly battled pancreatic cancer for the past two years with remarkable strength, positivity, faith, and determination. He chose to carry that burden privately, never allowing his illness to define him or slow him down. That was one of his greatest gifts. Even in the hardest season of life, Steve would go through it with a smile on his face and yet still radiated positivity. Steve believed in possibility. He believed our bodies could heal, that lives could be transformed, and that each of us was capable of far more than we ever imagined.
Born in Bluffton, Indiana, to Stanley and Carol Hoffacker of Uniondale, Steve was raised with the values of faith, family, hard work, and perseverance that guided him throughout his life. He attended Indiana State University, where he earned his degree and distinguished himself in several ways. He co-founded the university’s Sigma Chi fraternity chapter, served on the Indiana State cheer team, and, through his dedication to physical fitness, won the Mr. Southern Indiana bodybuilding championship. It was during these years that he discovered the passion and calling that would shape the rest of his life.
An innovator in health and fitness, Steve founded Hoffacker Health and Fitness Inc. in 1997, followed soon after by Hoffacker Design. He specialized in personal training and conditioning, the design of home gyms and corporate fitness facilities, and consulting with clients around the world. He built his business from the ground up and devoted his career to helping others achieve healthier, stronger lives
Steve had a unique ability to inspire others to do hard things. To him, success was never about building an organization—it was about building and helping people. Widely respected throughout the health and fitness industry, he left a lasting impact on countless lives across the globe. Through his mentorship, perseverance, and encouragement, he helped others discover purpose, grow in confidence, and dream bigger than they ever thought possible. His legacy lives on in every person he encouraged, every dream he inspired, every life he transformed, and all the good he brought into the world.
Of all the blessings God entrusted to Steve, none meant more to him than his family. He shared 27 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Wendy. Together they built a life in Indianapolis and Santa Barbara, centered on hard work, love, and family. Being Wendy’s husband and Grace’s father was the greatest privilege of his life, and nothing brought him more joy than the family they built together
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Wendy (Hawthorne) Hoffacker; his cherished daughter, Grace; father, Stanley Hoffacker; brothers, Stacy Hoffacker and Scott Hoffacker (Sarah); sister, Candace Hoffacker; and nieces and nephews, Chloe and Clayton. As well as countless extended family members, lifelong friends, colleagues, and many who proudly considered him family because of the love he so freely gave. He was preceded in death by his mother Carol Hoffacker
Steve lived a life marked by joy, kindness, humility, generosity, optimism, and a commitment to the people he loved. He had a smile that would light up any room and enthusiasm that immediately filled it. He was a devoted husband, father, beloved son and brother, loyal friend, entrepreneur, and faithful servant. He had an extraordinary gift for encouraging others and lifting them higher. Although we miss him more than words can express, we rejoice in knowing he has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” His earthly journey has ended, but his legacy will live on through every life he touched and every heart he strengthened.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Heartland Church in Fishers, Indiana. While we grieve the unimaginable loss of a man who meant so much to so many, we also celebrate a life lived with extraordinary purpose, unwavering faith, and wholehearted love. Steve had a lifelong passion for classic automobiles, and in his honor, we warmly invite those attending who own a classic car to drive it to the celebration
