The Callaway County MU Extension is hosting a community workout program for older adults in Callaway County
A release states the WITS workout program can help older adults keep their brains healthy through activities and spending time with other like-minded participants. The program is targeted to help improve memory, attention and thinking skills
In the WITS program, participants will solve puzzles, discuss different topics and learn ways to take care of their brains
Orientation for the WITS workout program will be Sept. 9 at the Holts Summit Civic <a href="https://healthylife7.com/mlk-center-gyms-named-after-two-local-legendary-coaches/” title=”MLK Center gyms named after two local legendary coaches”>Center, 282 Greenway Drive in Holts Summit
Sessions will run Monday and Wednesday mornings Sept. 28 to Dec. 7
Monday sessions will be 9-10 a.m. at New Bloomfield Elementary, 307 Redwood Drive in New Bloomfield. Wednesday sessions will be 9-10 a.m. at the Holts Summit Civic Center
Participants can also opt to stay after the Monday sessions as an OASIS volunteer to read to elementary students
