YUKON, Okla. –
Arize Training Club is hosting its first-ever parent and kid competition to create memories through movement. Co-owners and coaches Brittany and Devin Allen share what inspired the creation of the event and what participants can expect
What inspired you guys to create this event, Devin?
Devin: We really wanted to be able to just let the parent and the kid be able to have a memory going back into school. But also we think it’s important for kids to learn fitness. We want them to be able to learn what it’s like to be able to do movements and get involved in the fitness community. Because we believe that it starts young and those grow into good habits as you get older
What can participants expect on the event day?
Brittany: One of the things that we tell them is this is not just a competition for athletes. If they can encourage their kid and the kid can encourage their parent, this workout is for them. But it’s not just a workout
Devin: This is going to be like a fun event. It’s going to feel more like a family thing and community thing versus like a hardcore competition. This is all about, hey, let’s have fun. Let’s have a good competition, but let’s just have some summer fun and do this thing
Brittany: Then afterwards- we’ll have water slides, we’ll have free icees. So even if they’re not going to compete, we encourage their families to come and watch them. It’s a back-to-school party
How do we register?
Brittany: The event is going to be August 23rd, so it’s a Sunday, so we want to make sure we’re not competing with all the crazy sports. It’s from 2 to 4. We’ve got sign-up links on our social media, so Facebook and Instagram. You can direct message us. We’ll send you a direct link, but there’s a link on all of our social media platforms
Where can we find more information on Arize Fitness Club?
Brittany: We’re all over social media. If they’re like, I’m not sure about the kid competition, but I need a workout, our first workout is completely free. Different by design is our motto. And so we want to change the way people think about fitness. And we want it to be family-friendly. We want it to be a place that you come in and that we’re meeting you right where you’re at
