Now you can enjoy a frosty libation or two while strolling the common areas within Atlantic Park in the heart of Virginia Beach’s Oceanfront
The 10.2-acre mixed-use entertainment complex — complete with surfing, dining, shopping, and live entertainment — rolled out its Surf & Sip program July 1
Atlantic Park is the first development in Hampton Roads to secure a commercial <a href="https://healthylife7.com/4-lifestyle-changes-that-upper-middle-class-households-swear-by/” title=”4 Lifestyle Changes That Upper Middle-Class Households Swear By”>lifestyle center license through the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority
Fifteen developments in Virginia have commercial lifestyle center licenses, according to the online ABC database. The next closest is Stony Point Fashion Park in Richmond
Commercial lifestyle center licenses were first issued in 2017. The regulation was modified in 2020 under Gov. Ralph Northam to reduce the required size for a lifestyle center from 25 acres to its current 10 acres
Qualifying mixed-use centers must have at least 100,000 square feet of retail space, including national specialty chain stores, and a mixture of dining, entertainment, office, residential or hotel venues. The space must include an outdoor pedestrian-friendly area and be managed by a commercial owners’ association, according to state law
The program transforms a standard restaurant visit into a vibrant, walkable venture where the indoor-outdoor experience feels connected and cohesive, said Grant Wiggins, project and development manager for Venture Realty Group, developer of Atlantic Park
“We wanted to eliminate the invisible walls between dining, shopping, and entertainment, allowing guests to grab a favorite drink and seamlessly explore Atlantic Park,” Wiggins said in a release

Participating restaurants will serve alcoholic beverages in branded cups. Boundary areas where customers can enjoy their drinks are identified by signage and clearly marked green-painted curbs throughout the development. Alcoholic beverages from outside of Atlantic Park are not permitted
Drinks can be enjoyed on the lawn space at The Dome concert venue, but only during non-performance days. Drinks are not allowed within The Dome, the surf beach area, parking garages or public restrooms
Atlantic Park restaurants and stores include Faherty, The Grill, The Hampton Social, Johnnie-O, Milk & Honey, Mi Vida, Nami Nori, Only at Renee’s, Quiet Storm Surf Shop, Sandbox VR, The Sweet Spot, Wave Riding Vehicles and Wise Guy Pizza
