MANILA, Philippines — Concepcion “Ching” Alano, former assistant lifestyle editor of The Philippine STAR, passed away yesterday at Makati Medical Center due to lung cancer. She was 74
A magna cum laude graduate in journalism at the University of Santo Tomas, Ching joined The STAR in 1987 and retired in 2017.
Upon her retirement, she continued to contribute to the Lifestyle section, writing even as she started ailing and as her condition worsened in the past months
Her wake is set on Tuesday, July 21 from 1 to 8 p.m. at Manila Memorial Parañaque’s Rizal Premier Chapel. Interment follows on July 22 at 9 a.m
Alano joins her late sister Carmencita Alano and their parents Arsenio Atienza Alano and Clara Maliwanag Alano
