So the week one debut or return remains possible for Aaron Donald, but I think what everybody’s really wondering is if he can be the version that he’s always been

Let’s hear from the man himself
I kind of been in a football mindset the last 14 weeks, grinding and things
If anything, it’s just getting back on the grass and knocking the rust off as far as playing football, getting 11 on 11, working my ass, getting a feel for the game, certain reaction things that m- made me who I am
So, you know, I, I put myself in the best position the best way I can with training to get to where I’m at now
Now, and the only thing I can do now is play 11 on 11 and, and knock the rust off, get going, get caught up with the speed of the game and, you know, and, and the rest is the, the rest

But, you know, do I feel like I can play at a high level?
Do I feel like I can still be myself?
100%.
If I didn’t feel like that, I wouldn’t be here
Chris, I think it’s easy for, you know, people like us or fans to kind of brush off, like, oh, crazy workouts and off-season shape like that
With Aaron Donald, it feels a little different
Yeah, that’s- Like, like this quote from Jared Verse, who’s worked out with Aaron Donald
Yeah, yeah
Right
“I’m telling you, he’s a psychopath
I need, like, another off-season to get on that
It was so bad
I’ve worked out at multiple programs

I’ve worked out with hundreds of people, best athletes in the NFL, best athletes in college
That was the hardest workout I’ve ever done.”
Yeah.
That, that’s why I think, again, not only the talent of Aaron Donald, but the fact that he’s kind of stayed in playing shape
And yeah, I know he hasn’t played, but he’s worked out like he’s still playing
I think that’s another reason why you go, “I think this could work.”
You know?
He’s the, the guy we talk about all the time
He’s a psycho in a good way
He’s just what you want, and it’s rare to have a psycho, you know, at this age who still w- willing to work the way he is

Like, like, like such a psycho
When I was there the week before they played the Bengals in the Super Bowl, okay?
I’m out there
The strength coach they have, he was with me and the Denver Broncos
So I’m in the weight room, and the D linemen are working out, and I’m talking to AD, and they’re doing dumbbell bench that day
But they had to put the band on and then wrap it around their hand, and so they had the band, and he had like 120
But he was mad
He was mad
“You’re, you’re, you’re putting these bands on me ’cause you know I was gonna go really heavy today.”

And like, “You’re the So you’re making me do…” You know, he was all like- Right he was like, “No,” you know, ’cause in his mind, he probably wanted to get, like, the 180s and do something like that
It was, it was just insanity
But, but again, just to show you- Yeah the psycho in which he is and how driven he is, and that’s why we think he’s got a chance to, to shut us all up here
