EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) —An El Paso man, convicted of online sex crimes, has now been sentenced to five years in prison for stalking a woman he met at a gym near Sparks
According to court records, on June 18, Ivan Alejandro Alvarado was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to stalking
Alvarado’s sentence comes six months after he was arrested on Jan. 5, when he was charged with stalking, with a bond set at $35,000
According to police documents, the charges stem from Alvarado stalking and sexually harassing a woman for over a year after he met her at a Planet Fitness gym in 2024
In the documents previously obtained by KFOX14/CBS4, the victim described to investigators that from Nov. 20, 2024, to Nov. 19, 2025, she received dozens of calls and text messages, in which Alvarado was allegedly threatening sexual assault
The victim told investigators that even though she blocked his number, she kept getting calls from “no caller ID,” and even though she said she didn’t answer, the caller would leave sexually explicit voice messages
Additionally, the victim told investigators that even after she changed gyms, the harassment continued, as she reported that Alvarado would try to approach her inside the gym or wait for her outside
In the report, investigators describe watching cellphone video provided by the victim that appears to show Alvarado outside the new gym, pacing back and forth, and then later trying to break into a vehicle he allegedly mistook for the victim’s vehicle
This is not the first time Alvarado was convicted of a crime
According to court records, Alvarado had been convicted of publishing or threatening to publish intimate material back in Sept. 2025, after he pleaded guilty
According to records, Alvarado was sentenced to two years in prison and five years of community service
However, records state the two-year sentence was suspended, with an amended sentence made in June where he was sentenced to 18 months in jail, with a jail credit of 80 days, with the sentencing running concurrent with his prior sentencing
Alvarado currently remains jailed at the El Paso County Jail Annex and will be moved to a TDCJ correctional institution
