Taher Hussain, IPN’s new chief commercial officer, said the company’s entrepreneurial spirit had encouraged him to take up the role
Acquisitive petfood supplier Inspired Pet Nutrition has appointed Taher Hussain as its new chief commercial officer as part of a drive to expand its presence in the premium petfood market in Europe
Owned by private equity firm CapVest, IPN has grown rapidly in recent years through acquisitions, snapping up high-end supplier Butcher’s in 2024 before turning to the continent to buy French brands Sorpal and Ultra Premium Direct in 2025
Revenues rocketed by £112m to reach £301m in the year to 28 June 2025, with the group now expected to have generated around £500m in sales for its 2026 financial year
Hussain’s role will be to develop and deliver IPN’s commercial strategy, accelerating sales growth across existing and new markets while strengthening customer partnerships
Hussain joined IPN in July 2026 following a six-month stint as McCain Foods’ UK commercial director. Prior to that he was head of global strategy delivery at Kraft Heinz, a role he gained after a succession of senior jobs within the business. He has also worked at Reckitt and Procter & Gamble
“IPN is a business with tremendous momentum, a strong portfolio of brands, outstanding people and a clear ambition for the future,” Hussain said.
“What particularly attracted me was the company’s entrepreneurial spirit, its commitment to innovation and its focus on creating happiness for people and their pets.”
IPN chief executive Arthur van Benthem added that the board was “delighted” to welcome its new CCO
“He brings a powerful combination of strategic thinking, commercial leadership experience and a proven ability to build high-performing teams,” van Benthem said
“As we continue to grow our business across Europe, invest in our brands and capabilities, and strengthen our position in the market, Taz’s experience will be invaluable. His track record of delivering transformation, driving collaboration and turning strategy into action makes him an excellent fit for IPN and the next chapter of our growth story.”
