Beachwood Schools Announces Naming Partnership for Jet’s Pizza Bison Fitness Facility
Beachwood City Schools has finalized a naming rights agreement with Jet’s Pizza which commits a total of $120,000 over the next 10 years to support the outfitting of the new fitness facility at Beachwood High School
As part of the agreement, the facility will be named the Jet’s Pizza Bison Fitness Center. The facility is scheduled to open this fall with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 18
The state-of-the-art facility will provide students with an exceptional space to develop their speed, strength and conditioning. The facility will also enhance student-athletes’ opportunities to rehabilitate injuries and improve recovery, ensuring they have what is needed to perform at a high level
“We are grateful to Rob Ferns and Jet’s Pizza for their tremendous support,” said Beachwood Schools Superintendent Robert Hardis. “This partnership enhances the athletic experience for all our students and sports teams.”

The naming rights agreement follows the recent $110,000 contribution from the Beachwood Schools Athletic Boosters toward the fitness center, which will also help fund the new equipment in the facility
Meet New BHS Principal Rebekah Sharpe
Beachwood Schools is inviting students, families, staff, alumni and community members to join in welcoming new Beachwood High School Principal Rebekah Sharpe
Residents can stop by the soccer games from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18 at Beachwood Stadium at Beachwood High School to meet Sharpe, introduce yourself, and cheer on the Bison
The soccer games presents an opportunity for members of the Beachwood community to connect with Sharpe in a fun, relaxed atmosphere before the start of the new school year
Concessions will be available, and admission to the soccer games is free
BHS Students Attend Roots, Rivers, and Reclamation Institute
Seven Beachwood High School students served as student leaders this summer, spending a week at the Roots, Rivers, and Reclamation (3R’s) Summer Institute
The five-day residential experience was held from July 26-31 at Hiram College, in partnership with Greendal Couch Organic Farm
Students from BHS who attended were Solomon Miklowski, Max Cannillo, Sean Lee, Sofia Mejia Barrera, Skii Bryson, and Lailah Johnson, as well as recent graduate Tamara Lennings Jenkins
BHS science teacher and Ecology Club advisor Marquiza Russell and Transition Coordinator Dan Russell served as chaperones. Forty students from local schools took part in the program
Working alongside undergraduate Near Peer Mentors, students participated in discussions and hands-on activities that cover topics such as sustainable farming, field botany, and community outreach
Lailah Johnson enjoyed the opportunity to meet students from different backgrounds, while Skii Bryson said she liked visiting the creek and also learning how microplastics enter the environment
Students left the program with a shared goal: Bringing composting to the high school to reduce food waste and build a more sustainable campus
