    Juber Shaikh, M.D., joins WSU Department of Neurology

    Juber Shaikh, M.D., has joined the Wayne State University School of Medicine Department of Neurology

    Dr. Shaikh, with expertise in diagnosing and managing disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junction and muscles, as well as specialized training in clinical neurophysiology, joined the department July 31 as an assistant professor

    Juber Shaikh, M.D.

    He is a board-certified neurologist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, with specialized expertise in clinical neurophysiology. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the American Neurological Association and the American Medical Association

    His research interests include neuromuscular medicine, autoimmune neurology, clinical neurophysiology, neuroimmunology, epilepsy and cerebrovascular disease

    Dr. Shaikh earned his M.B.B.S. degree from Seth G.S. Medical College and KEM Hospital in Mumbai, India. He subsequently completed his medical degree in General Medicine at G.S.V.M. Medical College and Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, and later obtained his doctor of medicine degree in Neurology from Seth G.S. Medical College and KEM Hospital. Following the completion of his neurology training, he served as an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at Grant Government Medical College and Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals in Mumbai.

    He practiced as a consultant neurologist in Navi Mumbai, India, where he provided comprehensive neurological care for nearly five years and managed a broad spectrum of neurological disorders. He completed his Neurology residency at Prisma Health/University of South Carolina School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Henry Ford Health in Detroit
