Justin Hartley is sharing his support for his This Is Usco-star Chrissy Metz
During an August 17 interview with Extra TV, Hartley was asked to respond to Metz’s recent revelation that she’s been taking GLP-1s and is on a health journey
“She’s wonderful. She knows what I think of her. She’s terrific. And anytime I hear her doing well in any way, shape, or form is a great thing for me because I love her. I love her dearly,” said Hartley, who played Metz’s on-screen brother, Kevin Pearson, on the NBC six-season family drama, which ended in 2022

Metz explained why she began taking GLP-1s in an August 10 interview on theTODAYshow. She said while she had been “very skeptical of GLP-1s for like years,” one of her friends “gave [her] like a thesis” in regards to the medication that convinced her. In addition, the 45-year-old actress said “there was some complications with [her] father’s health” that she felt she “should try to get ahead of.”
Metz, who confirmed she has “a partnership with RO,” a telehealth company, went on to say that her doctors believed GLP-1s would be “beneficial” for her health
“It’s been really wonderful for me,” said Metz during the August 2026 interview
Metz also said that she is focusing on strength training to up her energy levels, especially while she’s been starring in the Broadway show, & Juliet

“It’s a whole lifestyle change. It’s not just, ‘Oh, I’m going to take a medication because it’s not the easy way out.’ I think a lot of people think, ‘Oh, it’s a magic wand,’ and no, in fact you have to be more diligent,” continued the actress during her TODAY appearance
In addition, Metz said she wants to “try not to focus so much [on]” the amount of weight she’s lost
“Because that can be overwhelming. And I think that that becomes the new obsession,” explained Metz
