Leqembi Iqlik allows patients to transition to at-home administration after completing at least 2 doses under <a href="https://healthylife7.com/retirees-are-quietly-choosing-minnesota-over-florida-and-the-reason-is-health-care/” title=”Retirees Are Quietly Choosing Minnesota Over Florida and the Reason Is Health Care”>health care provider supervision.
Leqembi® Iqlik™, a subcutaneous (SC) formulation of lecanemab, is now available for initiation therapy for early Alzheimer disease (AD) in adults with mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia due to AD.
The SC formulation for initiation therapy is supplied as a 250mg/1.25mL single-dose prefilled autoinjector. Patients may now receive a weekly 500mg SC initiation dose (administered as two 250mg injections) lecanemab regimen of 10mg/kg every 2 weeks remains available as a starting option for patients who prefer IV administration

Following 18 months of the starting dosage regimen, patients may transition to a maintenance dose of either lecanemab IV 10mg/kg once every 4 weeks or lecanemab SC 360mg once every week
According to Eisai and Biogen, Leqembi Iqlik provides greater dosing flexibility across both initiation and maintenance phases by allowing patients to switch between IV and SC routes.
Patients or caregivers may administer Leqembi Iqlik after completing at least 2 consecutive SC doses under health care provider supervision. Prior to injection, the autoinjector should be removed from the refrigerator and left at room temperature for 20 minutes. Injections should be given in the abdomen, upper thigh, or back of the upper arm (if administered by a health care provider or caregiver)
The Leqembi Companion® Program is available to support patients with at-home administration, providing injection education and other medication management tools.
