The Scorpio Lifestyler is the next upgrade over the Thar, if you dare to.
It is that time of the year when Mahindra launches and announces its products and upcoming prototypes. Yes, it is their Independence Day event and the first product unveiled is the new Scorpio Lifestyler. After more than a decade of the Scorpio Getaway pickup being put off sale, the Lifestyler is back with three editions: Reef, Trail and Valley. It will take on the pickup segment against the likes of the Isuzu V-Cross and the Toyota Hilux on the premium end. Given this exterior unveil, let’s explore what the Scorpio Lifetyler will pack in when it launches next year.
Quick read:
Up front, the production model gets an all-new design that sets it apart from the Scorpio SUV
A 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine paired with a 4WD system is under the bonnet
Cabin features include new features like a large vertical touchscreen, single-pane sunroof and a floating digital driver’s display
Launching at April 2027 with price starting at less than Rs 19.79 lakh.
2026 Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Exterior
The Lifestyler gets a totally redesigned front end compared to the regular Scorpio N. Interestingly, the Scorpio Lifestyler takes a far more modern and rugged approach to the design and features, making it truly a lifestyle-friendly vehicle. The design language screams ready to go anywhere with a modern, edgy theme.

Up front, a large redesigned grille with prominent chrome inserts sits between sleeker LED headlamps, noticeably sharper than those on the SUV. A more muscular bumper houses the vertically stacked fog dual-fog lamps on either end, and the chunky grey design panel, finishing the front look.
The Scorpio Lifestyler has a double-cab setup makes it look much larger than the standard Scorpio. However, the proportions are tastefully designed and do carry the quintessential urban pickup styling. The profile does hark to the Scorpio thanks to the familiar shape of the front quarter of the Scorpio Lifestyler

Moving on, the rear end of the Scorpio Lifestyler is also tastefully designed thanks to the large LED tail lamps which bracket the indicators and the reverse lamps. However, the elephant in the room is the Mahindra-embossed tailgate. This looks like it has taken inspiration from the more popular Scorpio Lifestylers available globally, like the Toyota branding on the Hilux’s tailgate, and the Ford branding on the F-150’s tailgate. Notice the Lifestyler badging beside the Mahindra logo

Mahindra haven’t confirmed the names of all the colours which will be available. Although the six options look like a red, sky blue, white, sand, black grey and a dark silver
2026 Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Reef Edition
The Surf edition comes in the Aquareef colour with the beach-themed graphics.

Don’t expect the surfboard to come with the vehicle of course. But the roll bar on th bed and the chunky wheel arch cladding are most likely part of the package as well
2026 Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Trail Edition
This is according to us one of the most beautiful versions of the Lifestyler. The Sahara Beige colour matches the design vibe of the car overall

The elements like the roof rack, and spare wheels on the bed remain to be seen if they end up being fully part of the package.
2026 Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Valley Edition
This is probably the meanest looking Scorpio Lifestyler. The Artemis Grey colour with the orange graphics depicting the valleys gives it a serious tone.

Notice the Valley Edition gets different sidesteps and roof rail designs compared to the other editions.
2026 Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Interior
The interior is also a major departure, or rather a leap ahead in time compared to the already modern-feeling interior of the Scorpio. What we see here is a design sketch and not the final picture of the interior. straight up, what sits centre stage on the dashboard is the large vertically mounted touchscreen infotainment system, which includes the media and climate control display

The driver also gets a floating 10.25-inch display. What is also new is the brand-new steering wheel, which matches the edgy and modern design theme of the car overall. The cabin has a futuristic and boxy design theme thanks to the accent trims on the dashboard and the square designs on the steering wheel
2026 Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Features & Safety
The feature list is where this pick-up could separate itself from the competition. Looking at the pictures and based on what we know from the Scorpio N, there will be a large touchscreen display wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paired with a premium branded sound system. A 12.3-inch driver’s display with customisable readouts is also possible. We also expect it to offer dual-zone automatic climate control, a single-pane sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, dual-wireless phone chargers, and keyless entry with engine push-button start/stop.

On safety, the standard kit will likely include six airbags, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control (ESC). It also gets front and rear parking sensors and hill-hold control; a 540-degree camera system covering multiple angles for urban parking and off-road use could be a standout.
The Level-2 ADAS suite adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist (LKA), and automatic emergency braking (AEB).
2026 Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Powertrain
The Scorpio N’s sibling will mostly get the same powertrain as well. The 2-litre turbo petrol and the 2.2-litre diesel are available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. The 4WD drivetrain option is available with the diesel engine only. Expected powertrain specifications are as follows:
Engine | 2-litre Turbo-petrol | 2.2-litre Diesel |
Power | 203 PS | Up to 175 PS |
Torque | Up to 380 Nm | Up to 400 Nm |
Transmission | 6-speed MT / 6-speed AT | 6-speed MT / 6-speed AT |
Drivetrain | RWD | RWD / 4WD |
MT – Manual Transmission / AT Torque Converter (automatic)
RWD – Rear-Wheel Drive / 4WD – Four-Wheel Drive
2026 Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Price And Rivals
We expect the starting figure to sit around ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom)onwards. This will sit above the SUV variants.
The Isuzu V-Cross is priced in the ballpark of the Scorpio Lifestyler and Toyota Hilux, priced notably higher. That gap could open the lifestyle pick-up segment to buyers who have been priced out until now. Prices, of course, are yet to be confirmed
ZigSays
This is the new statement in the lifestyle car scene in India. The Thar and the Thar Roxx took it to one level, and now the Scorpio Lifestyle will take the lifestyle car scene to the next level. This can be a good attainable car for someone looking for the weekend farm or rural runabout which can comfortably carry your family in comfort and haul goods on the back.
In the urban market though, this can have major enthusiast potential. With great modification potential
