GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — Munson Healthcare is contributing $225,000 to help expand the Grand Traverse Bay YMCA’s West facility in Traverse City
The donation supports the YMCA’s “Growing for Good” capital campaign, which aims to expand access to health, wellness and community programs across the region
Planned improvements include a new gymnasium, an indoor walking track, expanded fitness areas and additional space for youth, families and after-school programming
“Strong communities are built through partnerships that create opportunities and meet the evolving needs of the people we serve,” Megan Brown, Munson Healthcare’s chief communications officer, said in a statement. “The YMCA’s Growing for Good campaign will help ensure that individuals and families across our region have access to reor years to come.”
Grand Traverse Bay YMCA President and CEO Andy Page said the donation will help create more space and opportunities for people of all ages
Munson Healthcare said the gift is part of its commitment to investing in community health initiatives and builds on its existing partnership with the YMCA, which includes on-site physical therapy services provided by Mary Free Bed at Munson
