    Key Takeaways: P&G Thorne Acquisition

    • P&G announced its intention to acquire Thorne, a science-driven wellness company known for dietary supplements and personalized health solutions.
    • P&G says the acquisition would strengthen its Health Care portfolio and expand its ability to serve demand for self-care, prevention and personalized wellness.
    • The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, with closing expected later in calendar year 2026.

Cincinnati, OH—P&G announced its intention to acquire Thorne, a science-driven wellness company known for its quality dietary supplements and personalized health solutions backed by health care practitioners

    Why is P&G acquiring Thorne?

According to P&G’s announcement, the acquisition would expand the ability of P&G’s Health Care business to meet growing consumer interest in self-care, prevention and personalized wellness. The company said trusted science, product quality and practitioner credibility are increasingly important in these areas

“Thorne has built a highly trusted brand at the forefront of personalized health,” said Paul Gama, Chief Executive Officer, Health Care. “Together, we see an opportunity to bring Thorne’s science-backed wellness solutions to more consumers while continuing to build on the quality, credibility and innovation that have made the brand successful.”

Thorne has built its reputation among consumers, health care practitioners, and professional partners through its focus on scientific rigor, product quality and innovation which said these attributes make Thorne a complementary fit with P&G’s Health Care portfolio and its commitment to helping consumers improve everyday health and well-being

Thorne said the acquisition positions it to continue advancing its mission to become the world’s most trusted personalized health brand by helping consumers live healthier lives through science-backed solutions they can trust

“For more than 40 years, Thorne has earned the trust of healthcare practitioners, consumers, and partners by putting science, quality, and the people we serve at the center of every decision,” said Colin Watts, Chief Executive Officer of Thorne, in that company’s announcement of the deal. “As we looked to the future, we kept coming back to one question: What will best position Thorne to continue fulfilling its mission? We believe P&G is the right partner to help us expand our impact while staying true to the values and standards that have always defined Thorne.”

Gama added, “This is an important step for P&G’s Personal Health Care business. Consumer interest in self-care, prevention, wellness, and personalized health continues to grow, and Thorne strengthens our position in premium wellness with a trusted, science-backed brand that complements our existing portfolio.”

The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. Closing is expected later in calendar year 2026. P&G will acquire Thorne from L Catterton’s Flagship Fund, and  Perella Weinberg served as the lead financial advisor to Thorne
