After spending weeks with other little people on vacation in Palm Springs, he’s seen everything from drama, hookups, relationships and friendships in the little people dating community
For this edition of This is Dating Now, Canadian reality TV star John Ferguson shared the reality of dating as a little person.
‘Exes are with exes a lot of the time’: What dating is like in the little community?
One of the people in the show Little Singles, Krista, stated she has yet to date a little person. So, she asked her friends if the rumours were true: if everyone in the little community hooks up with each other. That opened up the conversation on what dating is really like within the little community
Ferguson confirmed the rumours, saying that many times, there’s an overlap in relationships or hookups
“Exes are with exes a lot of the time. Hookups are with hookups,” he told Now Toronto
But the little community is still quite small, so Ferguson shared that he tries to be friends with people he’s hooked up with
“Or else it’s just cruel, and then it’s awkward… I don’t want them to feel used,” he said
Ferguson has shared multiple times on the show that he used to actively participate in hookup culture, but for about a year and a half, he’s been staying away from that, as he’s met‘the one’ for him: Millie Cutler
Despite being in a relationship, Little Singleshasn’t been any less interesting. Ferguson’s friends have, in fact, participated in that said hookup culture
His famous friend group, the Tres Amigos, consisting of Sammy Replogle andStephanie Vrettakos, turned from a trio to a duo, which caused drama throughout the house too
“When I found out Sammy and Stephanie were hooking up, first of all, I was kind of annoyed because they tried hiding it even after I revealed that he flew to her. Typically, in your 20s and early 30s, you don’t fly to someone when you’re both single, opposite sex, and you’re not related, and you don’t hook up,” Ferguson said
Though Ferguson shared he doesn’t blame them for hiding it, as the little community is notorious for spreading rumours and hurting relationships or flings, he explained
“But it was quite a shock to realize that two of my closest friends were hooking up. There was just crap happening in my brain. I don’t know why the human brain creates the images in your head. Luckily, I think I fully erased the image of them hooking up in my head, which is great. It’s healthy for my mental health,” Ferguson joked
‘It actually looks larger than an average person’: Ferguson shares average-sized women’s misconception on his size down there…
“A lot of average-sized women assume that just because all of this is small, then obviously [my genital] is. But it’s actually average-sized,” he said
Ferguson joked it’s almost like an optical illusion, saying that because of his smaller body, it seems his genital region is hitting his knee
“My average-sized friends have claimed that it’s all an illusion, but I think they’re just envious,” Ferguson joked
Having intimate relations with a little person v.s. average-sized, what’s the difference?
Ferguson shared that he lost his virginity to an average-sized woman, and it felt very different than when he first had sex with another little person
“It was just so much easier hooking up with a little person than an average-sized person, for physical reasons,” Ferguson explained. “There are just so many more positions you can create, and it was just a lot more intimate.”
He likes being eye-to-eye with another little person, while with an average-sized partner, he said it’s harder
“Everything’s a lot easier if you’re each little and hooking up compared to if you’re half [the height] and full,” Ferguson said
