Tropical Depression Two forms off Florida’s Gulf Coast
Definitely, I mean that’s why we still have drought lingering and making it very easy for these fires to start and to spread. Now today we will have the opportunity for some rainfall, but it is going to be *** bit gusty over the next couple of days. So that’s not going to be ideal when it comes to fighting these fires. And of course it’s going to be another hot one for us with temperatures breaking into the low to mid 90s. Feels like temperatures going to be sitting well into the 100s, but again, not breaking any thresholds to prompt any heat advisories. But if you do want to spend some time out. Doors today, stay hydrated and try to limit your time out in the sun because it is dangerously hot out there for this afternoon. Right now temperatures sitting in the 70s and 80s across South Florida and as we take *** look at radar, the big picture of it, we have this area of low pressure that does now have *** medium chance of tropical development sitting out in the northeastern Gulf. It is going to be *** very slow mover, so for today and tomorrow it’s going to help bring *** couple of showers. Showers and storms our way from the south and it’s also what’s going to be creating those breezy and gusty conditions for us throughout the day today and into tomorrow. So *** closer look at radar and you will notice most of those showers sitting offshore and *** couple of them just skimming the coast of the Treasure Coast and we will see this activity continue throughout this morning where we may have *** stray shower to push inland, but for the most part our best chances for showers and storms will be. Coming in as we head into those afternoon hours. So if you want to get outside today, I recommend doing it in the morning again, lower end rainfall chances and temperatures are going to be more comfortable because by the time we head into the afternoon, that’s when those temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s and those feels like temperatures well into the 100s. So calling for 40% coverage of showers and storms for today, and you can see here on Future Track how again the focus is towards the Gulf Coast because it’s all being prompted by that area of low pressure. Out in the Gulf, so you will notice here’s *** look around the 9, 10 o’clock hour, *** spot shower or two closer to the coastline, and then as we head into the lunch hour, we’re going to be seeing *** couple more still very isolated in nature, and then we will see slightly better coverage as we head into the 34 o’clock hour, and that’ll continue for the rest of the afternoon. Here’s *** look around the dinner hour and just *** few more showers and *** couple of rumbles of thunder expected around that time frame, so. Again, if you want to get outside and do it during the first half of the day, that’s going to be the driest point, and we can expect *** very similar pattern again on Monday as we’re still going to be impacted by that area of low pressure where we will have the far outer reaches of that low, bringing some scattered showers and *** couple of storms. Our way and then you will notice as that area works its way to the north, then we’re going to be drying out because we’re no longer going to be getting any moisture from it and so we’re in for *** fairly dry work week, and we will keep drier conditions in place as we look ahead to next weekend.
