USANA Health Sciences has announced the renewal of its partnership with Nordiq Canada, extending its role as the national governing body’s official nutrition partner through the 2030 Olympic Winter Games and beyond

Under the four-year agreement, USANA will continue supplying Canada’s elite cross-country ski athletes with its NSF Certified for Sport nutritional products, targeting sports nutrition priorities including performance, normal muscle recovery following exercise and long-term health

The renewal highlights the increasing importance of product quality assurance and contamination risk management in elite sports nutrition, where athletes can face significant consequences from inadvertently consuming prohibited substances through supplements

NSF’s Certified for Sport programme provides independent testing and certification designed to reduce this risk

The programme includes product testing for banned substances, formulation and label reviews, production facility and supplier inspections and ongoing monitoring

NSF says its certification screens products against more than 290 prohibited substancesand contaminants relevant to athletes

For supplement brands targeting professional and elite athletes, third-party certification can therefore provide an important point of differentiation, while offering athletes, coaches and sports organisations additional reassurance around product integrity

BeckieScott, CEO of Nordiq Canada and a two-time Olympic medallist, said the organisation was “thrilled” to renew the partnership, adding that USANA’s support would help provide athletes with access to high-quality nutritional products while reinforcing its commitment to clean sport

At Nordiq Canada, we believe success is built on hard work, trust and a steadfast commitment to clean sport. As someone who has dedicated much of my career to advocating for fair play, I know how important it is to surround our athletes with partners who uphold those same values

Brent Neidig, USANA’s Chief Commercial Officer, added that the company’s partnership with Nordiq Canada reflected shared values around athlete performance and competing with integrity

The renewed agreement also strengthens USANA’s presence in Canada’s sports nutrition market, with the company positioning its work with national sporting organisations as part of its wider strategy to support elite athletes with science-based nutrition
