WEST HARTFORD/BLOOMFIELD, CT — The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District and Bloomfield Senior Services will host a free Cancer and Chronic Disease Prevention Fair on Tuesday, July 21, offering health screenings, educational re
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bloomfield Community Center, 330 Park Ave., Bloomfield. Organizers say the fair is open to everyone
Free services available during the event include:
- Mammography screenings
- Blood pressure screenings
- Hand massages
- Rapid HIV and hepatitis C testing
- Oral cancer screenings
Community organizations will also provide information, giveaways, and re dementia, pancreatic cancer, mental health, HUSKY Health, and other health topics
A Hartford HealthCare mobile mammography van will be on site, and appointments are required for breast cancer screenings
To schedule a mammogram, residents should call the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District at 860-561-7901
According to the health district, mammography services will be available to insured and uninsured individuals, as well as those with high-deductible health plans
The event is being presented in collaboration with numerous community organizations, including Oak Street Health, Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute, the Alzheimer’s Association, NAMI Connecticut, Connecticut Dental Health Partnership, Community Health Network of Connecticut, The Health Collective, Arthritis Foundation, Careforth, Beacon Prescriptions, the Mandell JCC Greater Hartford, and others
