Singapore’s wellness festival Glow Festival is betting that the future of wellness marketing extends beyond fitness, blending movement, music and immersive brand experiences into a single lifestyle destination

That strategy appears to be paying off. Glow Festival recently wrapped its biggest edition yet, attracting 100,000 visitors over 10 days at Sentosa with eight experiential zones, more than 70 wellness sessions and headline performances from Jason Derulo, Hyukoh and Alessia Cara. The fifth edition also marked a milestone for the festival, with organiser Exceed Sports & Entertainment formalising a three-year partnership with Prudential Singapore, Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), underscoring ambitions to establish Glow as a marquee wellness tourism event for Singapore.

“Wellness is no longer defined purely by fitness, it has become far more holistic, and it means something different to everyone,” said Martin Capstick, CEO and founder of Glow Festival and co-founder of Exceed Sports & Entertainment, in an interview with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE

“As that definition has broadened, so has Glow Festival. What began as a wellness-focused event has evolved into a lifestyle festival that brings together movement, music, creativity, food and community. In doing so, we’ve created a more inclusive experience where attendees can personalise their own wellness journey.”

    Wellness beyond the workout

Capstick said changing consumer behaviour gave Glow the confidence to significantly expand this year’s festival

“People are becoming more intentional about making time to recharge, connect with others and prioritise their physical and mental wellbeing,” he said

“They’re also looking for experiences that bring movement, mindfulness, nutrition, recovery, creativity, music and community together in one destination, where they can spend quality time with friends and family while discovering something new.”

Those shifts prompted Glow to expand into eight distinct zones catering to different lifestyles and age groups, with programmes ranging from sunrise yoga and strength training to recovery experiences, creative workshops and social spaces. Joe Wicks’ signature coastal run sold out, while Glow Commons emerged as a popular gathering point throughout the festival

One of the festival’s biggest changes this year was pairing wellness programming with headline concerts, a move Capstick said reflects a broader understanding of wellbeing.

“Wellness doesn’t end when the workout does,” he said. “Music is wellness and it has the power to move us both physically and emotionally, reduce stress, lift our moods and create meaningful moments of connection.”

He added that combining wellness programming with performances by Jason Derulo, Hyukoh, Alessia Cara, Daya, Shazza and Shye created a full-day festival experience that reflected how people live today.

Whether attendees came for the fitness, the music or discovered both along the way, it made wellness more accessible

    Building a tourism event

That broader definition of wellness has also reshaped how brands participate in the festival

Rather than traditional product showcases, partners are integrated into the festival journey through immersive, experience-led activations designed to encourage participation across movement, recovery, beauty, nutrition and community

Prudential Singapore returned as presenting sponsor for a third consecutive year through its “Every body club” initiative, while partners including Supernatural, Bioderma, Tundra and various F&B concepts contributed activations spanning different aspects of wellbeing. This integrated approach creates greater value for both attendees and brands, allowing brands to become part of a meaningful experience while giving festival-goers a richer and more engaging way to discover them, explained Capstick.

Looking ahead, Capstick said the festival’s ambitions extend beyond an annual event. “Our ambition extends beyond creating another annual festival. We are building a legacy event for Singapore, one that people across the region and around the world associate with the very best in lifestyle and wellness,” he said.

He added that organisers will continue introducing new experiences, attracting world-class talent and creating more opportunities for brands and communities to connect as they work towards positioning Singapore as a destination where wellness, music, culture and community come together
