Summer is coming to an end, but the blockbusters are not. As the calendar turns to September, there are a handful of intriguing movie releases coming up. Where August gave us some delightful surprises like The End Of Oak Street, September promises to give us some interesting films

There’s a return to nostalgia with a long-awaited sequel, a pair of action-dramas based on real events and a massive re-release that’s pivotal for a December epic. We also get the return of Robert Pattinson doing a fantastic accent

Here are some of the movies that we are most excited for in September

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Mark Wahlberg lead this drama based on the real-life happenings in 1966 Mississippi. Abdul-Mateen II plays an FBI agent that has to pair up with a mafia hit man (Wahlberg) to solve some brutal murders and attacks

    The Uprising (September 11)

Another piece of historical fiction, The Uprising tells the tale of the 1381 Peasants Revolt. It’s a heavy, dark tale of how an entire country banded together to attempt to make a difference. Andrew Garfield stars as Ploughman, with Jamie Bell, Cosmo Jarvis, Katherine Waterston, Stephen Dillane, Tom Hollander and Thomasin McKenzie rounding out a phenomenal cast

    Practical Magic 2 (September 11)

Fans had to wait 27 years, but the sequel is finally here. Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest all return, with Lee Pace, Joey King and Maisie Williams joining the fun

    Avengers: Endgame Encore (September 25)

Even if there weren’t four additional minutes added to the original, it would be worth experiencing Avengers: Endgame on the big screen again. But this time around, there’s pivotal content that will set up December’s Avengers: Doomsday

    Primetime (September 25)

The year of Robert Pattinson continues, with the dynamic actor taking on the very real Chris Hansen and Dateline NBC’s To Catch a Predator
