Neb. (KSNB) – The Two Rivers Public Health Department said it has identified three cases of Cyclospora infection in its district
Nurses are currently working to determine whether the cases are linked to the ongoing national outbreak
Cyclospora is a parasite that causes intestinal illness and is spread through contaminated food or water
Common signs of Cyclospora are: Frequent, watery diarrhea. Loss of appetite. <a href="https://healthylife7.com/weight-loss-drugs-challenge-plastic-surgeons/" title="Weight Loss Drugs Challenge Plastic Surgeons”>Weight loss. Stomach cramps or bloating. Nausea. Fatigue. Low-grade fever
Two Rivers recommends residents follow these guidelines to protect against the parasite: Wash fresh fruits and vegetables thoroughly under running water before eating, cutting, or preparing them, including produce labeled as pre-washed. Wash hands with soap and water before handling food, after handling food, before eating, and after using the restroom. Prevent cross-contamination by keeping fresh produce separate from raw meats and using clean cutting boards and utensils. Drink safe, clean water from approved sources. Follow proper food safety practices when preparing and storing food. Cook fruits and vegetables, when feasible, to 158 degrees Fahrenheit.
