Seattle’s beloved Jimothy the raccoon takes the internet by storm
A Seattle woman’s video of an unusually round raccoon nicknamed “Jimothy” has propelled the creature to viral fame
Kiana Hall, 33, noticed the animal wandering around in the Ballard neighborhood. She told Reuters that she thought she was seeing “some kind of gray, fluffy creature that was shaped sort of like an orb with really long legs. Almost… like a monkey or a lemur.”
After posting her video of the raccoon on social media and naming it “Jimothy”, it became a viral sensation with millions of views online
Asked why Jimothy has shot to stardom, Hall said: “I think he’s just sort of round and a silly little guy, and people just sort of need something silly and fun in their life right now.”
After The Seattle Times published a video of Jimothy on social media, others came forward with their own sightings of him
