Texas (KBTX) – Two local fitness powerhouses are squaring off in a battle of sweat, strength, and community spirit
On Aug. 8, BoomFit and Sawed-Off CrossFit will host the annual “FYR Throwdown.” This friendly fundraising competition challenges both gyms to see who can raise the most money for FYR Aggieland, a nonprofit that provides fitness and mentorship to local youth
The physical competition kicks off at 9 a.m. at both BoomFit (Longmire Drive) and Sawed-Off CrossFit (Harvey Road), followed by a kids’ workout at 10 a.m. All fitness levels are welcome for a suggested $25 donation
Sawed-Off CrossFit currently holds the coveted traveling barbell trophy, but this year’s stakes are even higher. Atmos Energy has signed on as a match sponsor, promising to double the impact by matching community donations dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000

Supporters can donate online, buy t-shirts, or purchase raffle tickets for prizes. Donors simply need to specify “BoomFit” or “Sawed-Off” in their donation memo to back their gym
