Eating healthy can feel out of reach for many people, but a South Wheeling restaurant is trying to make it easier, one meal at a time
WHEELING, W.Va. —Eating healthy can feel out of reach for many people, but a South Wheeling restaurant is trying to make it easier, one meal at a time
At The Flying Spoon on 33rd Street, Executive Chef Kevin Jones is building a menu around fresh, whole ingredients, offering sandwiches, salads, protein bowls, wraps and seasonal specials aimed at giving customers healthier options without giving up flavor

Jones said the idea grew out of a desire to offer something different, including meals designed for people watching their salt and sugar intake. “And they said they wanted something totally different; you know what I mean, because here we do yoga, we wanted to do something healthy with no salt or sugar, healthy for people with high blood pressure and different things like that. So, I said, let me create some different meals,” Jones said
Jones said his goal is to help others make better choices in the kitchen. “I just want to help other people and make a trillion other people do the best things for them as far as cooking and different things,” he said
The restaurant’s menu continues to expand with new seasonal items, with a focus on making healthy eating both accessible and enjoyable
