Child nutrition workers in Autauga, Elmore counties prepare for new school year

MILLBROOK, Ala. (WAKA) – Child nutrition professionals from Elmore and Autauga <a href="https://healthylife7.com/warren-county-schools-offer-free-meals-tips-to-help-students-beat-the-heat-as-school-year-begins/” title=”Warren County Schools offer free meals, tips to help students beat the heat as school year begins”>County schools have gathered to cook up a nutrition plan for the upcoming school year
The Child Nutrition Cup is a back-to-school training event that helps prepare more than 200 cafeteria managers and staff for the school year while celebrating the important role they play in supporting student success
The training sessions held at 17 Springs in Milbrook yesterday included presentations from the Alabama State Department of Education on reimbursable school meals and cashier procedures as well as food safety and health inspection updates from the Alabama Department of Public Health
“Our programs are based around a lot of state and federal regulations. There’s a lot to learn,” Cacyce Davis, the child nutrition director for Elmore County Schools told Action 8 news. “A lot of just rules and regulations to comply with, and we want to make sure that we’re providing our students with the best possible meals that we can. The best customer service and the best quality meals. ”
“It’s just nice to have that team with you or that family that’s gonna back you when you need an extra push or a shoulder to cry on or things like that. They spend a lot time together and then we wanna have that unified front for our students,” Autauga County Schools Child Nutrition Director Audra Segers said
Both Elmore and Autauga County schools will have free breakfast and lunch again this year for their students
