City taking fitness, enrichment instructor proposals

The city of Sanibel is accepting proposals from instructors for fiscal year 2027, which will run from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2027
Experienced professionals are sought who can deliver high-quality fitness and enrichment programming at the Sanibel Recreation Center in one or more of the following areas:
Fitness, wellness (membership-based)
– Cycling classes of all formats
– Yoga and emerging styles for all ages and levels
– Functional fitness, strength and conditioning, and small group training
– Pilates, barre, barre fusion, and core-focused formats
– Mobility, stretch, balance, and recovery-based classes
– Bootcamp, circuit training, and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) classes for all fitness levels
– Mind-body and recovery formats
– Water fitness
– Racquet sport conditioning and instruction
– Small group weight room instruction and personal training
Active aging, foundational fitness (membership-based)
– Chair-based fitness classes
– Functional fitness classes
– Aqua fitness classes
– Mind-body classes
Dance, tumbling and instructional programming for adult/youth (fee-based)
– Dance instruction across a variety of styles
– Tumbling instruction of all levels for ages 4-18
– Specialty workshops and progressive series for dancers/tumblers of all ages
Enrichment programming for adult/youth (fee-based)
– Music instruction
– Art and creative classes
– Gardening and sustainability workshops
– Foreign language classes and cultural experiences
– Photography, digital media, and content creation
– STEM and educational enrichment for youth
– Self-defense, martial arts, Tai Chi, Qigong and other traditional movement practices
– Wellness workshops
– Culinary and nutrition-based workshops
Selected instructors will be required to submit to and pass a criminal background check
Proposals must include:
– Copy of current group fitness and/or specialty training certification(s)
– Copy of current AED/CPR/First Aid Certification
– Copy of current liability insurance
– A minimum of <a href="https://healthylife7.com/three-ultra-processed-foods-that-can-be-beneficial-for-a-healthy-diet/” title=”Three ultra-processed foods that can be beneficial for a healthy diet”>three professional references
– College degree in a health/fitness-related field or equivalent work experience preferred
– Proposed class offerings, including class type(s), descriptions, and preferred days/times
