    Govt committed to children’s wellbeing, green future: Afroza

    MANIKGANJ, July 19, 2026 (BSS) – Civil Agovernment is working to ensure the wellbeing of children while building a greener and more sustainable Bangladesh for future generations

    Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the “One Child, One Tree” programme at Nabagram Government Primary School in Manikganj Sadar Upazila, the minister said the initiative is not merely about planting saplings but about creating a Green Bangladesh for the country’s future

    She urged everyone to take responsibility for nurturing the saplings distributed under the programme, stressing that protecting the environment is a shared commitment

    Deputy Commissioner Nazmun Ara Sultana, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Sarwar Alam and local political leaders and activists attended the event

    Later, the minister joined the monthly District Development and Coordination Committee meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room as the chief guest

    She also attended the Rabindra-Nazrul Jayanti 2026 programme at the Manikganj District Shilpakala Academy, where she distributed prizes among the winners of various competitions
