Ky. (WKYT) – Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced in Lexington on Wednesday that HHS is decertifying Network for Hope, an organ procurement organization serving Kentucky and parts of Indiana, Ohio, and West Virginia
Kennedy said that the cabinet came to the decision after extensive reviews by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and Health Rety failures despite repeated oversights, repeated warnings, corrective action plans, and multiple opportunities to improve.”

“We will not tolerate organizations that compromise patient safety or betray the trust of donors or their families,” Kennedy said
Kennedy said the reviews found patients placed on the organ donation pathway who should have never been there, cases with the donation process continued despite signs that patients were not appropriate organ donors and repeated failures in clinical judgment oversight and patient safety. Kennedy said the problems continued even after the organization promised to correct them
