ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi has said judicial wellbeing is not a matter of individual welfare, it is fundamental to judicial independence, institutional integrity and public confidence in the rule of law

In his message on the International Day for Judicial Wellbeing, he said: “The day reminds us that the strength of any justice system depends not only on its laws and institutions but also on the wellbeing of those entrusted with administering justice.” He said judges shoulder immense responsibility, often under demanding circumstances, adding that to discharge this duty with independence, impartiality and excellence, they must be supported by institutions that foster professional growth, modern working environments, effective administrative systems and a culture of respect and recognition.

He said the judiciary of Pakistan remains committed to embedding these principles within its reform agenda. “Our continued investments in digital transformation, improved court infrastructure, institutional support and judicial education, reflect our belief that strengthening judges ultimately strengthens justice itself,” the CJP said

He paid tribute to the dedication, integrity and resilience of judges across Pakistan, who continue to administer justice with courage, professionalism and unwavering commitment to the rule of law. “I pay special tribute to those serving in remote districts under difficult and often challenging circumstances. Let this day reaffirm our commitment to a judiciary that values both excellence in adjudication and the human dimension of justice. Every judge deserves institutional support to serve with dignity, confidence and excellence. In strengthening our judges, we strengthen justice itself,” he concluded.
