Spine – This is Gun Fu, a story-focused action game from Nekki, will release in Summer of 2027. The game will be available on the aforementioned consoles and PC during its release window. However, as per Gematsu, the single-player action game is planned for Switch 2 post-launch
The action game creates a movie-like experience for players, where players get to experience close-quarters gunfights. The game was supposed to be launched in 2025 as a team-based action game. What can PlayStation 5 owners expect from Spine?
When playing Spine, gamers can experience a cyberpunk action movie with a special combat camera attached to the main character. During fights, players get to experience cinematic gunplay built around Freeflow Combat
The official game description reads, “In Tensor City—a technocratic megacity built by an AI for humanity to survive the ecological collapse of the world outside—your value is a number. Tensor City’s Social Rating decides who eats, who works, and who gets thrown away, splitting the city between the gleaming New City above and the rotting Old City below. Redline, a rebel street artist, scrapes by in the slums until a mafia heist goes wrong and costs her everything, including her brother. To get him back, she acquires a sentient combat implant called Spine, and together they go in search of her brother.”
The gameplay of Spine requires players to dodge point-blank shots, disarm attackers, and deflect incoming attacks with counterattacks that are chained to brutal finishers. In the game, players can even take weapons from enemies for battles
Players must fight characters from the Justice Department squads, mafia enforcers, and VR-possessed fanatics. Gamers can also expect unique boss fights against Children of Tensor, other spinebearers who are faster, stronger, and built to be unbeatable
