A HOSPICE in Stourbridge has been awarded £20,000 in National Lottery funding

The Mary Stevens Hospice will use the funding to continue its creative wellbeing programme for patients, which will now run for another two years thanks to support from the National Lottery Community Fund

The programme offers weekly sessions to support people with life-limiting conditions at the hospice’s day service unit

Patients can take part in a range of activities including painting, pottery, woodwork and other creative sessions

These are designed to boost wellbeing, combat feelings of isolation and offer a supportive space to connect with others who have similar <a href="https://healthylife7.com/why-the-pharmacy-experience-matters-for-glp-1-outcomes/” title=”Why the Pharmacy Experience Matters for GLP-1 Outcomes”>experiences

Lisa Tromans, creative wellbeing lead at the hospice, said: “We’re delighted that The National Lottery Community Fund has recognised our work and thanks to National Lottery players, we can continue to provide this popular programme for people living with life-limiting conditions who access our day service unit

“It not only helps patients to build relationships with others facing similar experiences but also supports people to learn new skills or hobbies, express themselves creatively and improve their overall wellbeing

“We are incredibly grateful for this support, which will allow us to continue making a real difference to the lives of our patients, as well as supporting the wellbeing of our staff and volunteers.”

The funding will also enable the hospice to deliver wellbeing sessions for staff and volunteers, recognising the role they play in providing specialist palliative care

The Mary Stevens Hospice delivers specialist palliative and end-of-life care to people across the Dudley borough and surrounding areas
