    Mass. awards $17.9 million to improve community health in 31 communities

    The state recently announced $17.9 million in grants to 31 community organizations, cities, towns and regional planning commissions to <a href="https://healthylife7.com/your-gut-bacteria-need-food-too-10-everyday-foods-that-can-help-nourish-the-gut-microbiome-and-improve-gut-health/” title=”Your gut bacteria need food too: 10 everyday foods that can help nourish the gut microbiome and improve gut health”>improve health

    It’s the fourth round of funding awarded through the Massachusetts Community Health and Healthy Aging Funds, according to a statement Friday

    Since its launch in 2020, this program has invested $63 million in community health initiatives statewide through 113 organizations and communities, according to the statement. These initiatives support locally driven efforts to create healthier communities and expand opportunities for people of all ages to live healthy lives

    The grants are in separate categories and include:

    Policy, Systems and Environmental Change Grants

    • Collaborative Resolutions Group: Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties: $1 million
    • Franklin County Community Development Corp. in Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties: $994,290
    • Massachusetts Food System Collaborative: statewide, $999,948
    • Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance: statewide, $992,172
    • Massachusetts Public Health Association in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties: $1 million
    • Neighbor to Neighbor Massachusetts Education Fund and Essex, Hampden, and Worcester counties: $840,000
    • Health Care for All in Bristol, Essex, Hampden and Suffolk counties: $500,000
    • MAB Community Services Inc./MA Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Berkshire, Bristol, Essex, Hampden, Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk, and Worcester counties, $400,000
    • Nuestras Raíces Inc. in Hampden County, $499,953
    • United Way of Franklin and Hampshire Region: $472,845.

    Community Health Improvement Planning Grants

    • Collaborative for Educational Services in Hampshire County: $375,000
    • Pioneer Valley Planning Commission in Hampden County: $374,736
    • Town of Ware: $375,000.
